Shorelander 7010169 Boat Trailer Brake Lockout - Side Mount
The brake lockout bracket is useful in situations where you need to back over soft ground or up a hill. If your actuator includes an electronic solenoid to control hydraulic brake pressure, you will only need this bracket when you are not connected to the tow vehicle's 12V DC back up light circuit
To Use:
- Insert brake lockout into slot behind roller pin on side of the main body
- Slide brake lockout completely forward in slot. The washer will keep the brake lockout from falling out
When you back up the trailer, the brake lockout keeps the actuator from compressing. When you pull the trailer forward and the actuator extends, the brake lockout should fall out of the slot. Attach a tether to the lockout if necessary.
WARNING: Before towing, make sure the brake lockout is removed from the slot. Otherwise, the brake will not energize.
